Organizers of an Israel Independence Day rally in Montreal are trying to set an interesting new record:
To celebrate 60 years of Israel’s existence, organizers of a downtown rally this morning at Place du Canada hope to have 14,000 people to join hands, form into circles and kick up their feet to dance the hora, the circle dance that is part of Zionist folk tradition.
If that many dancers can keep it up for 10 minutes, they’ll find a a place in the Guinness World Records book for the biggest hora.
The current record of 13,828 participants was set in Romania in 2006.
