Tonight is the first night of חנוכה. We are aware that there seems to be much disagreement among English speakers about how to spell the name of this holiday. Though we aren’t usually averse to controversy, we decided to avoid the question of how it’s spelled by using the Hebrew spelling. (We aver that our preference for “Chanukah” over “Hanukkah.”)
